We never asked one another that question! That warm May evening eating supper on the patio, both of us said at the same time: ‘Why don’t we… ‘, and the rest is very recent history. As the lambs bounced and played in the field beside us, my husband and I outlined a basic plan to begin life permanently on Strumble Head pensinsula. We said it would probably take us two years. It is seven months later and here we are.
I am glad to say that the photo above is not what we live in. It is a stable. But then again we have just come through the season of celebrating Jesus, a baby born in a stable! The above is another possibility awaiting birth, that of my studio, and I know from experience that possibility in God is as though it is an actual fact waiting to be revealed to the eye. Sometimes it takes a while. Sometimes it is quick. Just as it says: ‘Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.’ (Hebrews 11:1).
In my book The Posture Principle, the first of twelve biblical principles I include is Possibility. That is because understanding it for what it truly is changes our perspective, our mindset. If we think of possibility as simply vague and wishy-washy, something that is like a whisp of mist in the mind, that does not help us to stand strong and have real internal hope. Whereas, if we think of possibility as God’s kind of Possibility, as real substance and evidence, we can dare to have faith that it will happen, in His plan.
Life has changed for us, quickly. Yet before this fast change, have come a solid number of years of prayer towards it. Also, indications, words of encouragement towards it from those outside our family, and specific circumstances. All of these combine to give a rich result. You will hear more from me. And as life has changed its course, so I have changed. And that is real result.
